Roberson Museum receives over $430,000 in NYS, Decker Foundation funding

BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — The Roberson Museum and Science Center is gearing up to make repairs to its iconic mansion. “The windows also have lead paint on them that we will be fully abating and there’s some of the architectural details that have just rotted away because of animal infestations and things like that,” he said.center_img The Roberson Mansion is nearly 115 years old, by removing the paint down to the wood they will be able to use modern paint applications that will help protect the structure for decades to come. The Roberson will be going through a request for proposal process to find the artists, artisans, craftspeople and local specialist to take on the project. The project will restore the wood trim and windows on the historic Roberson Mansion and Carriage House.last_img
